Need More Chocolate...

My three vices: reading, chocolate, and the beach. If I can somehow combine all three: absolute nirvana.

Why am I telling you this? Well, it seems that over the past year business has become my life. As an admitted workaholic, it's way too easy to fill up any extra time with business tasks. Add to this the pressure of being the main financial support for our family, along with some huge new projects (involving Target and Barnes & Noble, among others), and you get one tired, tired lady.

So I'm making it my summer resolution to eat more chocolate while reading on the beach. Doesn't that sound lovely? And since the 4th of July I've done pretty well. To completely out myself as the tired syfy geek that I am, I've devoured several Charlene Harris novels, an Anita Blake mystery, and now I've moved on to the Outlander series. None are amazing, though, and I'm still looking for that perfect beach book. Any suggestions?

Oooh sounds perfect. Wow, seems like you're crazy busy, good luck with the big projects you have going on but here's wishing you some choc, books and beach in amongst it all.

I have recently moved to Rarotonga with my husbands work so getting plenty of beach and book time and the heat helps cut back on the chocolate consumption. I love your Blog and your commitment to grow by helping others. Anyway here are my great book pics for you. "The Time Travelers Wife" and "Her Fearful Symmetry" By Audrey Niffenegger. Kate Atkinsons "Case Histories"- this is the first in a series of three. Hopefully my craft room will arrive on the next boat with all our other supplies so will be back at the sewing machine and computer.

Do you like paranormals, Corinna? The Black Dagger Brotherhood (vampire) series by J.R. Ward, is very good. Also, Karen Marie Moning's books, both the Highlander and the Darkfever series are great. :)

Sounds like a blissful way to spend time. Try the Dresden Files series. It's really fun.

These are sweet! All the books sound absolutely perfect. I picked up Her Fearful Symmetry at the library last week and ended up not taking it....I'll have to reconsider. And I'm definitely into paranormal stuff. Off to the library now with all these lovely options (and to look up Rarotonga...no idea where that is, but sounds fun). Thanks so much all.

I have shamefully been reading nothing lately because I've been spending too much time watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I think you are partially to blame for that.
